It gives visitors a unique opportunity "to take part in the game " by taking the exhibits into their hands, trying it, and becoming entirely absorbed in the atmosphere of the past.

..The country between two rivers, ptich and svisloch, on the baltic and the Black Seas, is known as an ancient water way, named by chronicle writer Nester a big water way "from the Vikings to the Greeks". One of this roads served the rivers Ptich and Schat, joined with the Neman by portage (carrying place between two navigable waters) and the river Losha.

In Dudutki (now Dudichi) even nowadays, to the capital of Polotsk Princedom - Polotsk, one can yet find vestiges of the 19-th century land-tracks. According to many scientists, and as narrated in "The Lay of Prince Igor", after having heard of the siege of Mensk on the river Menka, this is the very place where the Prince of Polotsk Vseslav - a famous "magician" - tore by "as a wolf from Dudutki to the Nemiga".

After that in 1067 a famous battle between Vseslav and Princes of kiev Yaroslav the Wise sons (izyaslav, Svyatoslav, Vsevolod) Rogneda's grandsons, took place on the Nemiga.

Rogvolod, Rogneda, Izyaslav, Vseslav... These names are from the first pages of the history of Belarus. The ancient Zaslavl, the Menka, the Nemiga, settlements and barrows are the witnesses of the events of the bygone epochs.

Since 15th -16th centuries along the land-tracks near the Svisloch and the Ptich there appeared and then crumbled szlachta's (dynasty's) estates. Out of simply well-built and fortified yards of Renaissance epoch estates grew in the artistic architectural ensembles of 17th - 18th centuries - the time of Baroque (Annopol, Karolishchevichi, Dudichi), and then Romanticism (Priluki, Stankovo, Smilovichi, Ubel) and at the second part of the 19th centure - eclectics (Ignatichi, Novy Dvor, Zamostye, Pyatevshchina, etc.)

From generation to generation estates have been built as clan's nests. Seven generations of the Prushinsky family have built karolishchevichi, about 400 years Vasilki belonged to the Yanishevskys, Logoisk - to the Tyshkevichys.

The estates of the Minsk region became centres not only of economic, but also cultural life. The names of the most outstanding representatives of the Radzivilys, Oginskys, Vankovichys, and Prushinsskys clans are connected with them. Among dwellers of the estates were well-known scientists, musicians, writers, public figures - Valentij Vankovich, Henrikh and Joseph Vejsengoff, Stanislav Monyushko, Mikhail and Alexander Yelsky, Emerik and Karol Chapsky, Kazimir and Dominik Monyushko...

These people are our Fatherlands fame, they were endowed with great dignity and honour, lead by boundless love for their lands. The motto of the Chapskys' arms could be fully related to them: "Vitam Patriae, Honorem nemini" - give your life to Fatherland, your honour to no one.
