The main terms
Colour is one of the material objects'
property percepted as visual sensation, that permit to distinguish the
quality
differences of radiation caused by different spectral compositions
of the light.
Colour harmony is combination of colours
that causes the positive estimation taking into account the basic
characteristics:
- colour tone,
- brightness saturation,
- form,
- texture and dimensions of planes that the colours have occupy,
- their mutual location in space.
Harmonic combinations of colours on type are to be divided for nuance
and contrast.
Colour in
architecture is the quality of architectural surroundings, historical
tone of town, the important element of
national culture, one of the most important components of modern
town surroundings formation.
Colour tone
is the quality of colour.
Architectural polychromy (from poly
= many, chromas = colour from Greek) is manycolourness (not less two colours).
It is to be achieved using colour materials or painting. It has
two main parameters: activity or magnitude of contrast
between the elements of colour series and degree of independence
of space colour structure in relation to volume and
spase parameters of architectural form.
Colouristic of residential area is the
unified, having space and structure, harmonic on chromatic content, developing
system. It is the means of interaction of residential area with
natural surroudings and the means to reach its own unity.

The Light and the Colour in the Architecture
of Byelorussia
Analysis of surroundings shows that colour-climatic features
of Byelorussia - have important influence on formation of coloristic of
Byeloryssian architecture. Range of chromatic ad acchromatic colours and
their most characteristic combinations are builded in close connection
with features of colours climat. Its objective indicators that affect perception
of colours of building influence the colour texture and colour plastic
of Byelorussian architecture.
The theoretical model of colouristic of architecture
one can represent as a system of two structure coordinated parts:
of "chromatica material" (colouristic of ordinary
building-) and of "chromatica frame" (colouristic of unique buildings).
Multicolour printihg of Byelorussian arcitectyre was formed for mahy ceturies
on the county duilding materials with using of the elements of applied
art in corresponding with light climat; The widespread method is intended
for receptivity in conditions with diffusion light - it is contrast of
two of many colours. The colours that traditional were used in Byelorussian
architecture are from the medium wave and form the long wave part of spectrum
beginning from light-yellow-green to dark-red in the and of spectrum; The
light climat define the direction of forming of chromatic conception not
only of some odjects, dut the duilding aas a wtole.
